In the mouth, this Chardonnay opens with appealing weight and roundness, highlighted by notes of baked apple, Asian pear and crème brûlée, finding focus in the mid-palate with a refreshing zest of acidity and hints of minerality and spice

This is the top, barrel-by-barrel selection Chardonnay coming form the Russian River Valley. This 2017 Chardonnay Barrel 16 has a very classy, classic nose of warm peaches, apple tart and lemon meringue pie with touches of baker’s yeast, nutmeg, candied ginger and brioche plus a waft of cedar. Medium bodied, the palate is laden with spicy stone fruit and apple butter flavors with a satiny texture and great freshness, finishing long. 825 cases were made.

Tight and focused with a vertical backbone of acidity that drives down the middle of the wine. Beautiful, driven finish of honey, cooked apples and pears. Selection of the best chardonnay from here. Super complex. Drink or hold.
