CELEBRATE WITH MAGNUMS

Traditional Method sparkling winemaking requires tremendous patience, foresight and plenty of time. J Vineyards & Winery was founded as a sparkling wine house. Led by Winemaker Nicole Hitchcock, J continues to explore the depth of the style with an ever-growing portfolio of exquisite, delicate sparkling wines. “Our house style is to retain the fruit notes, which highlight the character of the Russian River Valley,” says Nicole.

With Magnum’s greater exposure to lees (called en tirage) during aging allows the wine to develop a bit more complexity, texture and rich aged notes, like brioche and toasted almond, as well as a finer mousse. We are very thoughtful in how long our sparkling wine spends en tirage. Each wine in the portfolio is distinct in style, but also distinctively J.“Our house style is to retain the fruit notes, which highlight the character of the Russian River Valley,” says Nicole.

Our non-vintage wines spend at least two years en tirage. Our style includes 20 to 25 percent reserve wine in the cuvée, adding richness and complexity as well as smooth consistency year after year. We anticipate that these wines are enjoyed within two years after release, but they age longer with proper storage.

Our vintage wines showcase the best lots from a single year. Spending an average of five years en tirage, they show greater depth and richness at release and a long life in your cellar. “Sparkling wines age similarly to still wines,” says Nicole. “A well-made Vintage Brut can age 30 years or more, if stored correctly.”
