Our J Brut Rosé sparkles with a vibrant, pink salmon hue and inviting aromas of jasmine blossom, Kaffir lime leaf, tangerine and raspberry. The mouthfeel is creamy and delicate, with a fine, energetic mousse that tickles the tongue. The deeply nuanced palate features notes of ripe strawberry, Bing cherry, blood orange and lemon meringue, with hints of slivered almond and watermelon juice. Pair this lively sparkling Rosé with tuna poke or grilled prawns with Meyer lemon gastrique over basmati rice. Also try a cheese pairing of gruyere with strawberry mostarda or gouda with grilled peaches.

Viticulture Notes

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes for our Brut Rosé were hand-harvested from outstanding Sonoma County vineyards. With a weighted emphasis on Pinot Noir, this wine delivers outstanding varietal Pinot Noir characteristics enhanced by a brisk acidic backbone and crispness thanks to the inclusion of 32% Chardonnay.

Winemaking

All of the grapes for this wine were placed as whole clusters, without destemming, into our French Coquard press for a gentle pressing. The Coquard press allows for slow, low-pressure pressing to minimize the breakdown of grape skins and seeds. A small portion of Pinot Noir was left on the skins to impart a pinkish-salmon color, the signature hue of this Rosé.

  • 90 POINTS - NV Russian River Valley Brut Rosé

The outstanding NV Brut Rosé (66% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 1% Pinot Meunier) displays loads of strawberry and Kir cocktail-like notes in a fresh, light to medium-bodied, delicious style that is essentially dry, with tiny, well-formed bubbles and good, crisp acids."

  • 93 POINTS - NV Russian River Valley Brut Rosé

The J Vineyards non-vintage Brut Rosé sparkling wine is easily among the finest wines in the genre made in America. It is gorgeous on the nose, exhibiting delicate strawberry fruit aromas, while on the palate the wine is fresh and crisp, showing notes of raspberry and cola."

  • 91 POINTS - NV Russian River Valley Brut Rosé

It impresses as being fairly rich at one moment and light on its feet at the next, and, like its mate, it finishes with a fine acid lift. It will make lovely drinking with any number of moderately rich salmon, chicken or duck dishes, yet its lack of any late-arriving astringency means that it is a Rosé that can be joyfully quaffed all by itself."
