2006 J Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley
Sourced from our own Cooper [Vineyards : Our Vineyards : Cooper]and River Road Vineyards [Vineyards : Our Vineyards : River Road], and also from the well-known Saralee’s and Preston Vineyards, this wine benefits from a long, slow growing season that fully matures grapes while maintaining their elegant crispness. Bright tropical guava and mango, notes of honeysuckle and pear, juicy tangerine and apple—all are balanced by opulent texture and optimum acidity. We hand-harvest Pinot Gris grapes during the night, at their coolest. Whole-cluster pressing in our Coquard press [Winemaking: White Wines], followed by cool fermentation in stainless steel, maintain the wine’s pure fruit expression.
