J Vineyards & Winery owns 274 vineyard acres along the hillsides and floor of the Russian River Valley. Diverse soils and cool, coastal microclimates give our eight vineyard sites a unique range of expression, and Viticulturist John Erbe carefully chooses the vineyard practices that best enhance wine quality.
Located on the southern side of the winery along Eastside Road, this 2.5-acre vineyard is planted entirely to Pinotage and represents one-tenth of California’s entire production of Pinotage. The soil is comprised primarily of Haire and Zamora loam.
